Safair Operations, operating as FlySafair, is currently recruiting First Officers to join its Flight Deck Crew across multiple bases. The successful candidates will report directly to the Fleet Captain.
🔹 Key Responsibilities
🛫 Flight Operations
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all flights
- Monitor aircraft systems and flight path continuously
- Perform all required checks before, during, and after flights
- Communicate effectively with crew, ground staff, and passengers
- Maintain full compliance with aviation regulations and company procedures
- Complete all required documentation accurately
- Assume command if the Captain becomes incapacitated
🤝 Support to Captain
- Assist with operational and administrative duties
- Maintain high standards of discipline, professionalism, and appearance
- Provide input to ensure safe and efficient flight operations
- Help maintain strong crew morale and teamwork
🔹 Flight Duties
Pre-Flight
- Review flight plans, weather conditions, and briefing documents
- Complete all required checks and documentation
- Work with the Captain on fuel planning and route decisions
In-Flight
- Execute and monitor all normal and emergency procedures
- Monitor instruments (altitude, speed, heading)
- Report any deviations or safety concerns immediately
- Handle radio communications when required
Post-Flight
- Complete all post-flight procedures
- Submit reports and required documentation
🔹 Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
- SACAA Commercial Pilot License (Essential)
- SACAA ATPL (Preferred)
- Valid Class 1 SACAA Medical (Essential)
- Minimum 1500 flight hours (including 500 multi-turbine hours)
- Multi-crew experience
- Knowledge of SACAA, ICAO regulations, and aviation standards
- Valid SA driver’s license and own transport
- Valid SA passport
- No criminal record (willing to undergo drug & alcohol testing)
- Ability to work irregular hours
🔹 Advantageous Qualifications
- Boeing type rating
- Experience on commercial jets over 20 tons
