WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Logistics planning, storageoptimisation and execution of RDM transportation requirements. This role mainly entails planning and coordinating activities related to internal movements and inter-site transportation of goods. The activities include inbound and outbound logistics, transport and fleet management. Rheinmetall Denel Munition Internship 2024
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS Rheinmetall Denel Munition Internship 2024
- Support the transport planner on coordinating inter-site product movements.
- Provide support in processing of invoices for transport and logistics service providers.
- Monitor transport and shipping related activities.
- Assist in shipping coordination as and when required.
- Track transport open requisitions and processing of insurance claim for vehicles.
- Maintain the vehicle management system including vehicle maintenance schedules and allocation letters to user departments.
- Assist transport planner with vehicle licensing responsibilities to ensure compliance at all times.
- Assist with warehouse management activities including stock take, inventory control, warehouse housekeeping etc.
- Assist logistics engineer on warehousing and logistics related projects.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS YOU SHOULD HAVE
POST REQUIREMENTS:
- National Diploma in Logistics Management/Transportation/Operations Management.
- BCom or BTech in Logistics/Transportation/ Operations Management; BCom Supply Chain Management and/or BTech Industrial Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of regulations and standards on all modes of transport (land, sea and air).
- Knowledge of Dangerous Goods will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of route planning.
- Knowledge, understanding and transactional exposure of ERP system (preferably SAP) will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of processes, administration, procedures, quality, production, products, maintenance and safety requirements.
- Knowledge and understanding of lean manufacturing.
