The most influential private sector youth employment initiative in South Africa is called YES.
We address the nation’s youth unemployment challenge as a private sector led effort by
enabling businesses to employ our young people who are unemployed.
Since we are a nonprofit, the government does not provide any financing to us. In order to
prepare young people without jobs for the future as managers, skilled workers, and
entrepreneurs who will propel the economy forward, we collaborate with top companies across
a range of industries to provide them 12-month high-quality work experiences. Businesses can
integrate into their ESG initiatives or move up one or two spots on their B-BBEE scorecard in
exchange.
Description of the role:
This is a 12-month fixed-term job opportunity for jobless South African youth to obtain realworld work experience, supported under the YES program.
The Learner Profiler Assistant who succeeds will be able to use his or her academic
background in a professional environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Using the online Learner Profiler system to evaluate students
– Help students fill in any knowledge gaps
– Outlining the assessment results for parents and teachers.
Role requirements:
– One of the following qualities is necessary for an effective Learner Profiler Assistant:
– South African national, enrolled in the YES program for the first time.
– Not working at the moment.
– Has to have completed Grade 12
– Education Diploma/Degree (Foundation Phase)
– PGCE
– The capacity to establish positive working connections with educators and students.
– Must possess empathy and a cheerful outlook.
