Requirements:

  • Grade 10 or equivalent (Grade 12 preferred).
  • Valid Driver’s License (advantageous).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (bilingual preferred).
  • Applicants residing within the Midvaal area given preference.
  • Ability to follow and execute given instructions.
  • Good physical health and basic skills in physical work.
  • 1 year relevant experience as a machine operator (brush/bush cutter) within a Local Government Authority preferred.

Duties:

  • Cut grass and maintain cleanliness according to schedules.
  • Perform manual tasks in parks, flowerbeds, pavements, etc., to ensure a tidy environment.
  • Safely operate and maintain machinery.
  • Clear rubble and garden refuse from flowerbeds and sport fields.
  • Utilize ride-on lawnmowers and brush cutter machines for grass cutting.
  • Regularly inspect equipment for safety and functionality.
  • Set up traffic signs to ensure safety of workers near municipal roads and open spaces.
  • Perform winter treatment of sport fields.
  • Execute ad hoc tasks as directed by management.

Salary: R153.62 per day (EPWP daily rate)
Term: Fixed Term
