Job Description:
The Emergency Preparedness & Response Coordinator (EPRC) is responsible for managing and coordinating all operational functions of the Fire and Rescue Team. The EPRC is responsible to provide service to the process operations regarding the management of all fire & rescue related activities so as to ensure a Safe & Healthy work environment for all stakeholders at the process operations and area that could be affected by our activities.
Job responsibilities include:
- Manage and coordinate all operational functions of the Fire and Rescue Team, as well as provide service to the process operations regarding the management of all fire and rescue related activities.
- Provide expert advice and implementation of best practice systems and programs within emergency preparedness and response.
- Conduct verification audits of all EOF findings for validity to close outs.
- Maintain the Emergency Response MCOP and associated Manuals, Procedures and BCM.
- Provide service to the process operations regarding the management of all fire & rescue related activities so as to ensure a Safe & Healthy work environment for all stakeholders at the process operations.
- Ensure that the appropriate systems and controls are in place to manage resources.
This role is in the SHE department at a Band 6 level reporting to the SHE Manager Operations.
Qualifications:
- Qualification in Safety & Fire Rescue
- Qualification in Fire Fighting, Hazardous material response, Industrial confined space rescue.
- Completion of A3 or Risk Related Training
- Successful completion of COMSOC 1 & 2
- Fire apparatus driver/operator – advantage
- Qualification in Advanced Trauma/Life Support and Occupational Health would be an advantage
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years on industrial Safety & Firefighting experience
- Process plant knowledge and experience will be an advantage
- Previous experience in Proto or ERT will be an advantage
Skills and knowledge
- Must demonstrate leadership skills and take initiatives
- Code 8 (B) driver’s license
- Effective communication both oral and in writing
- Be capable to assess the health and welfare needs of assigned personnel
