Overview of key tasks and responsibilities
The selected candidate is expected to:
Support the company in the correct management of the legal entities belonging to the company.

Maintaining company documents in accordance with legislation, internal compliance and other legal requirements;
Maintenance of databases;
Plan, coordinate and attend board and committee meetings;
Drafting of protocols, decisions and general correspondence and, if necessary, organizing the signing of documents;
Ensure that all corporate changes are approved and properly recorded;
Transmission of annual reports; legal notices and ad hoc enforcement requests;
Management of the main internal interfaces;
Regular contact with third parties including auditors and CIPC
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships;
Keeping abreast of new developments/legislation regarding businesses, including relevant tax legislation;
Registration and notification of legislative changes;
Advise the board and management on applicable laws and other legal requirements;
Establish systems and processes to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements;
Maintenance of corporate AML due diligence packages for client due diligence exercises.
Skills and experience are required of Company Secretary needed
The successful candidate will have:
You have at least 5 years of work experience in the field of corporate intelligence services;
You have the appropriate qualifications to perform the duties and responsibilities listed above (a law degree and/or corporate secretary is beneficial);
Thorough knowledge of corporate law and administrative regulations;
GreatSoft / E-sec / Blueprint or equivalent corporate secretarial software experience;
Experience in registering and registering companies through the CIPC;
A general understanding of the South African tax system as it applies to businesses;
Systematic way of working, accuracy, initiative and ability to work independently;
Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, staff and management;
Ability to prioritize and plan a difficult workload;
Good computer skills and particularly good knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook email;
Reporting structure of Company Secretary needed
The Company Secretary reports to the Group Company Secretary in the UK.
