Role Purpose
This 12-month professional learnership is designed to develop entry-level technicians through structured theoretical training, practical skills development, and supervised workplace experience.
The programme prepares learners for career opportunities in Facilities Management, HVAC, and related technical service environments and is aligned with the QCTO Occupational Qualification 103269.
Key Learning Areas
- Fundamentals of HVAC principles and systems
- Installation and commissioning of unitary HVAC systems
- Occupational Health and Safety, including Working at Heights
- Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Correct tool usage and fault identification
- Workplace professionalism and compliance
Training will include classroom learning, hands-on practical training, and supervised on-site experience.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have an NQF Level 4–6 qualification or Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science (compulsory)
- Be between 18 and 34 years old
- Be medically fit and physically capable of site-based technical work, including working at heights
- Have a basic understanding of electrical and mechanical systems
- Be willing to learn and work with tools and equipment
- Be able to work in plant rooms, rooftops, and construction environments
- Follow safety procedures and technical instructions
Certification
Training and assessment will follow QCTO standards.
Certification will only be awarded to learners who successfully complete all training, workplace requirements, assessments, and medical fitness checks.
